The academic mission of the Department of Pathology is an extension of this goal and aims to:
- Provide the most advanced and comprehensive pathology and pathobiology education
- Prepare our students and trainees for lifetimes of learning and for careers as leaders, practitioners, and researchers.
- Perform biomedical research to further our understanding of normal and abnormal life processes which lead to prevention and cure of disease and enhanced health.
- Practice pathology with compassion and in a manner that translates the results of our training, research and the unique clinical and technological resources of the Medical Center into the highest quality of care to the public.
