The Edward H. Bossen Team Player Award is presented to the resident or fellow selected by their peers and who has distinguished themselves in their commitment, values, work ethic, and contribution to team morale.
The William D. Bradford Resident Teaching Award recognizes the Pathology resident or fellow who in the opinion of the Pathology residents has distinguished themselves in teaching effort and ability.
The Bernard F. Fetter Teaching Award recognizes outstanding teaching efforts by Anatomic and Clinical Pathology faculty. Each resident and fellow is asked to nominate an Anatomic Pathology and a Clinical Pathology faculty member who, through their commitment to education, has made the most substantial contribution to the resident's development as a pathologist and physician. This award should recognize specifically those individuals who have made the strongest efforts to teach, and should not be limited to those faculty members with whom a resident or fellow has had extensive contact.
The Christine Hulette Award for Teaching Excellence recognize the Pathology Resident who in the opinion of the Pathology teaching faculty has distinguished themselves in teaching effort and ability in the Duke School of Medicine MS1 Body and Disease course.
The Fred and Janet Sanfilippo Resident Research Award recognizes the Pathology resident or fellow who has distinguished themselves in research effort and ability, either from a basic science or clinical research-related project or publication. Recipients are chosen by votes from residents, fellows and faculty.
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) distinguished Medical Student Award recognizes medical students who demonstrate outstanding achievement, great aptitude, or great interest in pathology. The award honors the students’ initiative in learning about pathology and participating in pathology-related activities.
Chief Resident Awards: The Chief Residents are recognized and awarded a Duke chair and framed certificate.
