Dr. Pendse Promoted to Associate Professor

Avani Pendse, MBBS, PhD, has been promoted to Associate Professor of Pathology. She joined our department in 2017 and also serves as Program Director for the general Surgical Pathology Fellowship, and as Associate Director of Proteomics for the Duke BioRepository & Precision Pathology Center (BRPC). She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur, India. She obtained her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also completed her residency and fellowship in Cytopathology. In the year preceding her move to Duke, she served as Fellow and Clinical Instructor in Surgical Pathology at UNC Hospitals.
