The Molecular Pathology, Genetics and Genomics division welcomes the return of Sarah Rapisardo, PhD, as an associate director on Nov. 1st. After completing her PhD in Molecular Cancer Biology at Duke in the laboratory of Sally Kornbluth, PhD, in 2010, Rapisardo completed fellowship training in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics, and initially joined Duke faculty as an assistant professor of Pathology in 2012.
In 2020, she left Duke to pursue an exciting opportunity as the director of Laboratory Operations at Scipher Medicine, where she led the laboratory through its initial CLIA, CAP, and New York inspections. Rapisardo is rejoining the Cytogenetics and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratories as director of Test Development and will be fully engaged in case review across all disciplines there: hematologic malignancy, solid tumor, and medical genetics.
