On Nov. 1, 2024, Duke Pathology welcomed Yang Liu, MD, as an assistant professor in the Neuropathology Division. Prior to joining Duke, Liu was an assistant professor at the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Albany Med Health System, where he also served as the director of neuropathology service and autopsy service. His clinical interests include bone and soft tissue pathology, head and neck pathology, and thoracic pathology.
Liu obtained his medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center in China. Prior to his pathology residency, Liu conducted basic science research in graduate school at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his residency in anatomic pathology at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University and his neuropathology fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY.
