Luis F. Carrillo, M.D., a board-certified pathologist with a subspecialty in hematopathology, has joined the Pathology Department as an assistant professor.
Carrillo’s academic interests include flow cytometry, myeloid neoplasms, lymphoma diagnosis, cutaneous lymphomas, and Epstein Barr virus. In addition to his clinical duties, he has a strong interest in medical education, which includes teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria in Arequipa, Peru. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP) and fellowship in hematopathology, both at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and affiliated hospitals in Milwaukee, WI.
In 2019, he joined the Department of Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he served as director of the Hematology Laboratory, associate director of the Flow Cytometry Laboratory and director of the M3 Pathology Selective Clerkship. We are grateful he has joined our faculty.
