On September 10th, Susan Reeves, who has been a constant presence and guiding force in the Department of Pathology’s PhotoPath group for four decades retired.

Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have received major funding from the National Institutes of Health to establish a prestigious Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC), part of a federally-funded national network of 33 similar centers.

Laura Barisoni, MD, Professor of Pathology and Medicine, has been awarded a multiple investigator R01 grant by the National Institute of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for her research proposal “Computational Pathology of Proteinuric Diseases.” 

Awarded by the Gertrud Reemtsma Foundation through the Max Planck Society, the prize is one of the most prominent awards in neuroscience and recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and original contributions for better understanding of neurobiology and neurological disease.
