Xiaoyin "Sara" Jiang, MD, FCAP, was invited to be a keynote speaker at the 47th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Division of the International Academy of Pathology in Brisbane, Australia from May 31st to June 2nd, 2023.
Her lectures were on the topics of head and neck, endocrine, and cytopathology, as well as social media, and were titled “Tricks and Tips for Taming Thyroid Tumors;” “Doing More with Less: Social Media for Empowered Pathologists;” and “Morphology, Molecular and Mimics: Helpful Hints for Head and Neck.”
In addition to the keynote lectures, Jiang spoke at the companion sessions for cytology and head and neck pathology:
- Cytology session: “The Interventional Cytopathologist: Ultrasound-Guided FNA for Pathologists”
- Head and Neck Pathology session: “A Pathologist’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing; Molecular Pursuits in the Thyroid”
Jiang was also was the special guest at the preceding inaugural Women in Pathology Dinner in Sydney, where signed copies of her new textbook, the Survival Guide to Cytopathology.
Jiang’s work is broadly recognized. In August, 2022, she was named to the Pathologist Magazine’s Power List, featured in its “Voyage of Discovery” category. The list is an “annual celebration of the great and inspirational minds that underpin the medical laboratory,” recognizing Jiang for her contributions as an educator and mentor. She was also named to the Power List in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
