Associate Professor Anne Buckley, MD, PhD, recently completed her six-year commitment to the American Board of Pathology's (ABPath) Neuropathology Test Development Committee (TDAC). At the TDAC meeting in Tampa, Florida, on May 30, 2025, she was presented with a certificate and a clock in appreciation of her service.

TDAC members are responsible for developing and reviewing the ABPath certification exam questions that assess and certify a physician’s education, knowledge, experience, and skills in order to provide high-quality care in the pathology profession. Since 1971, the ABPath has appointed committees for the various areas of pathology testing that consist of ABPath trustees and other pathologists and physicians who are recognized experts in the various disciplines. The role of the committees has since been expanded to include a subject matter and advisory function for the Board.
Over the past 17 years, Buckley has served Duke Pathology with great distinction as a neuropathologist (with special expertise in muscle pathology), laboratory director, educator, collaborative investigator, and advisor/editor for departmental communications.
Buckley’s clinical research interests include neuromuscular diseases. She collaborates with colleagues at Duke on basic and translational research in this area and is a member of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. She is also involved in translational and basic research on brain, muscle, and kidney disorders with other research groups at Duke.
