New Pathology Sub-Internship Opportunity Offered Spring of 2025

Thomas J. Cummings, MD, professor of Pathology and Ophthalmology and Residency Program director, is pleased to announce the approval of a Pathology Sub-Internship by the Duke School of Medicine (SOM) Curriculum Committee, to begin for the Spring Term of 2025.

“I am grateful to the Duke SOM for working with us to provide the highest level of undergraduate medical education for students interested in Pathology,” said Cummings. “We now offer the fourth-year medical student (MS4) Sub-Internship; a Post-Sophomore Fellowship; elective rotations in Surgical Pathology, Autopsy Pathology, and Clinical Pathology; MS3 research scholarships; and shadowing opportunities for MS1s and MS2s. Recruitment of the next generation of pathologists begins when we are visible and engaged with our students!”
