Dr. Diana Kozman
On May 3, 2025, Diana Kozman, MD, presented "Evolving Roles of Histologic Evaluation and Molecular Profiling in Endometrial Cancer Classification: A Tale of Two Eras" at the North Carolina Society of Pathologists (NCSP) 2025 Annual Meeting in Beaufort, N.C.
She covered the following topics:
- The conventional ways of risk stratifying endometrial carcinoma–a type of cancer originating in the lining of the uterus–using grade and subtype
- The evolving role of combining molecular data with the conventional stratification method and how this combination better predicts risk, survival, and progression, resulting in improved therapies
- The current practice and reflex tests done on endometrial cancers at Duke
Kozman is an assistant professor of pathology. She joined Duke’s diagnostic Surgical Pathology faculty on Sept. 1st, 2023, primarily in the areas of Gynecologic and Genitourinary Pathology. Her research projects include studies such as “Isolated PMS2 Loss in Endometrial Cancer and Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate.”
