Feb. 19-23, we celebrate Graduate Medical Education (GME) Week 2024. We hope everyone will use the time to reflect and shine a spotlight on the many contributions that our residents, fellows, program directors, and program coordinators make in support of Duke’s legacy of excellence. Duke University Hospital and the Duke Health GME Office thank them for all that they do for our patients, their loved ones, and each other.
“We have such an exceptional group of trainees and education-minded faculty here at Duke, said Eric Carlsen, MD, PhD. “I'm proud to be part of the institutional mission to shape the future of pathology practice and produce the next generation of top-notch pathologists!”
“Residents and fellows are the lifeblood of our department and health care system, and the system would collapse without them,” said Professor of Pathology and Ophthalmology, and Residency Program Director Thomas J. Cummings, MD. “I am fortunate to work at Duke alongside colleagues in Graduate Medical Education and Duke Pathology, and their dedication to training physicians is second to none. During this GME week, please consider to take a moment and thank, mentor, or introduce yourself to one or more of our outstanding trainees whom you have not yet had the opportunity to get to know.”
