On February 10th, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism published a case report co-authored by Cytopathology Fellow, Meg Lee, MD, titled, "Acquired Generalized Lipodystrophy as an Adverse Event of Combined Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy."
Together with Duke Endocrinology Fellow Randol Kennedy, MD, Lee describes a case of acquired generalized lipodystrophy related to combination immunotherapy. Lipodystrophy syndromes are rare, congenital, or acquired heterogenous disorders, characterized by partial or generalized deficiency and dysfunction of adipose tissue. Because they are so rare, many clinicians aren’t aware of how to diagnose and manage these syndromes. Read the paper here.
Lee completed her residency at Duke, serving as co-chief resident of the Pathology Residency Program from 2022-2023.
