Carolyn Glass, MD, PhD, presented a symposium talk titled “Through the Looking Glass: Advances in Histology” at the 2023 International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Annual Meeting held in Denver, CO, April 19-22. At this well- attended symposium composed of more than 300 transplant cardiologists, surgeons, and scientists, Glass discussed digitalization of glass slides and healthcare data; development of artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning (ML); algorithms and building of institutional infrastructure for future clinical implementation; and integration of algorithms.
The ISHLT is the largest international and multidisciplinary professional society engaged in the management of patients with end-stage heart or lung disease. Nearly 3,000 members from over 50 countries are represented, and include transplant surgeons, cardiologists, pulmonologists, pathologists and scientists.
