Duke Dermatopathology faculty and trainees had a strong presence at The International Society of Dermatopathology (ISDP) 29th Joint Meeting, held March 25-26, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. The meeting brought together experts from around the world to share advances in the diagnosis and study of skin diseases.
Duke Professor of Pathology Maria Angelica Selim, MD, and Martin Sangueza, MD, from Hospital Obrero in Bolivia, co-directed the course, “Diagnostic Challenges at the Interface: Lessons from Genital Dermatopathology”. They discussed a multidisciplinary approach to genital dermatopathology, emphasizing the integration of clinical insight and histopathologic evaluation across specialties. Additional contributors included Margaret M. Cocks, MD, PhD (University of Utah School of Medicine); Jaclyn Watkins, MD, MS (UC Davis Medical Center); and Burak Tekin, MD (Mayo Clinic).
Selim also co-directed an oral presentation session in collaboration with Doina Ivan, MD, of MD Anderson Cancer Center. In addition, she supported trainee development through her role in the selection of recipients of the ISDP Travel Grant Award, which provides financial support to help trainees attend and participate in the Society’s annual meeting.
