Dr. Karra Jones Delivers Talk at Neuromuscular Pathology Colloquium

Karra Jones, MD, PhD, was invited for the fourth year in a row to deliver a talk at the 8th Annual University of California, Irvine (UCI) Neuromuscular Pathology Colloquium on May 23rd, 2024, in Irvine, California. In her talk, titled “Muscle Pathology Across a Spectrum: Part 2,” she reviewed muscle biopsies displaying similar histopathologic findings, but ultimately with different diagnoses to show the varied spectrum of pathologic findings and muscle biopsy diagnoses. It built on the cases she presented last year in her talk, “Muscle Pathology Across a Spectrum: Part 1.” 

Other keynote speakers included: Werner Stenzel, MD, (Charité Hospital, Berlin, Germany), P. James Dyck, MD, (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota) and Chunyu “Hunter” Cai, MD, PhD, (University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas).

Jones is the medical director of Duke’s Electron Microscopy and Immunochemistry Laboratory. She also serves as section head of Muscle & Nerve Pathology; and as director of the Neuropathology Fellowship Program.
