Contact Information:

Hometown: Allen, TX

College: Brigham Young University

Career Goals: After graduation, I plan to work in an academic medical center where I can further develop my ability to gross challenging and complex specimens and educate pathology residents. Later in my career, I hope to utilize my strengths to teach at a PA program while also exploring emerging technology fields such as digital pathology.

Hobbies and Interests: Volleyball, cooking, reading, playing outside with my family (going on walks, swimming at the pool, playing at parks)

Why Duke: Duke offers local rotations in a variety of settings, making it very appealing to someone with a family. Because the class size is kept small, the program can be tailored to fit individual needs, allowing for an overall greater experience across the two years. Additionally, Duke delivers instruction in conjunction with the medical school, providing a rigorous, yet rewarding education that will build a solid foundation as I begin my career. Aside from the academics, watching one of the most elite basketball programs in the country is a pretty nice perk.

Why Durham: Durham is the perfect-size citylarge enough where there's plenty of stores, restaurants, parks, and things to do, but small enough where there's still a community feel to it. It's a great place to raise a family, and it's not too far from anything you need.
