Hobbies and Interests: Swimming (my favorite stroke is butterfly), weightlifting, reading (just finished all 6 books in the dune series and I am on to either the foundation series or the Hyperion series), hiking, video games, going to concerts, and Dungeons and Dragons
Why Duke: During the interview and second look I got the impression that Duke is an incredibly supportive environment where I could explore all of my career interests openly, including my interest in industry (and this is one of the only programs in the country with opportunities to explore this career path). I was also blown away by the collegiality of the attendings and residents. It just felt like a perfect fit.
Why Durham: It's warmer in the winter, two hours from multiple beaches, just over 3 hours from Asheville with a ton of great places to hike, safe, affordable, and has a great airport with cheap flights. There isn't much more I could possibly ask for in a place I would want to live!
