Hometown: Spanish Fort, Alabama

Medical School: University of South Alabama College of Medicine
Fellowship Plans: Leaning towards dermatopathology but also interested in GI/liver pathology
Career Goals: I’m more interested in private or community practice but also open to academics.
Hobbies and Interests: I really enjoy running (trying to work my way up to a marathon), playing video games, volleying a few games of pickleball, watching college football, and playing/listening to music.
Why Duke: I found the environment at Duke to be super supportive when I rotated with the department as a medical student. I never felt uncomfortable asking for advice or questions from the residents, fellows, and attendings. Also, there are many research opportunities at Duke as well as in-house fellowships, which was important to me in choosing a residency.
Why Durham: Durham is such a unique place in that it’s not so big where city life can be overwhelming, but it’s also large enough where there truly is something for everyone to enjoy. Geographically, Durham is located toward the center of North Carolina, making it within driving distance for trips to the beaches or mountains.
