Research: I’m interested in mechanisms of cancer development and neurodegenerative diseases that can be exploited for therapeutic development. I have a fascination in precision oncology and the development of pharmacogenomics in improving patient treatment outcomes.
Career Goals: I would love to pursue a career as a Clinical Research Director where I can use research to benefit clinical outcomes for patients.
Hobbies: I compete with my dog, Balto, in dock diving as an Iron Dog! I also love cooking, paddle boarding, and hiking.
Why Duke: I have always admired the medical discoveries and innovations that have come from Duke. I wanted my experience as a graduate student to be in a medical center promoting research that could positively impact patient care.
Why Durham: Durham is a mid-sized city that has a lively city life and a strong sense of community. I love the amount of locally owned businesses, parks and hiking trails, and activities throughout the Triangle Area. There is always something to do and it is very easy to constantly explore what Durham and surrounding city’s have to offer.
