Hometown: Wiggins, MS
College: University of Southern Mississippi
Career goals: My career goals depend on my experiences during clinical year, but as of now, I hope to attain a position with heavy autopsy responsibility and no teaching. I also aspire to one day help expand the profession in Europe.
Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling abroad, and exploring the (cold) outdoors. But nothing is better at the end of a long day than curling up on the couch with my size-deluded dog, a book, and a cup of tea... or perhaps a glass of wine.
Why Duke: Duke surgical pathology regularly receives complex cases, including examples I would be hard-pressed to encounter in another program. The experience I earn here will prepare me for any specimen I might encounter in my future career. And getting peaks of a gorgeous campus while walking through the buildings is a lovely perk.
Why Durham: Durham affords the convenience of having anything I need nearby while still being surrounded by greenery. There is also plenty of nature to explore nearby when the weather is cold enough.
