Hometown: Ellicott City, MD
College: Duke!
Medical School: George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Fellowship Plans: Hopefully something in surgical pathology
Career Goals: It's hard for me to say at this point in my life, but I hope to be proud of myself and my accomplishments when my microscope and I are finally retired.
Hobbies and Interests:I love a long road trip to a new city or natural park, I want to visit every US national park before turning 50. I enjoy playing and watching basketball and recently have gotten into indoor rock climbing. I've got two cats, a ball python, and dozens of plants to take care of. Along those lines, I love a good nature documentary. Lastly, a good board game or card game is a fantastic way to spend an evening for me.
Why Duke: Duke Pathology is renowned for the quality of its residency training program and the department has a reputation that can open so many doors for me in my professional career. This was evident during my interview (my very first one) and it stuck with me when deciding on where to undertake my residency training. Also, I distinctly remember how kind everyone was!
Why Durham: The Triangle redux. Loved it as an undergrad, even more excited to be here as a real adult. Underrated foodie city that is not too big or small with beaches and mountains just a few hours away.
