Strickland Awarded Grant from Foundation for Women's Cancer

Kyle Strickland, MD PhD has been awarded an Endometrial Cancer Research Grant in Honor of Lynne Bovee Olson for his grant titled, “Are ESR1 gene mutations associated with increased risk of copy-number-low endometrial adenocarcinomas?”  The purpose of this funding is to develop cost-effective single gene sequencing techniques to molecularly categorize endometrial adenocarcinomas in the research setting.

Dr. Strickland received this award from the Foundation for Women’s Cancer and was to be recognized at the now-cancelled annual meeting of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.  This is the second grant awarded in Lynne Bovee Olson’s honor to fund research and promote a cure for endometrial cancer.  Dr. Strickland is an assistant professor specializing in gynecologic and perinatal pathology, and cytopathology.
