Everardo Macias, PhD has been awarded a Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Idea Development Award by the Department of Defense for his research proposal titled "Targeting NUAK2 to mitigate obesity-enhanced prostate cancer growth and metastasis." The funds will support study of the protein kinase NUAK2 and its involvement with obesity-enhanced progression of prostate cancer to metastatic disease, with the goal of providing a therapeutic strategy.
