Pirozzi Receives "Bell Basic Science Cancer Research Award"

Christopher J. Pirozzi, PhD,  a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Hai Yan, was recently awarded the 2017 Robert and Barbara Bell Basic Science Cancer Research Award.  He will present his work titled “Mutant IDH1 Disrupts the Mouse Subventricular Zone and Alters Brain Tumor Progression” at the Fifth Annual DCI Scientific Retreat held on Friday, October 27th, 2017.  Christopher will discuss the generation and characterization of genetically faithful mouse models of glioma as well as the in vitro and in vivo effects of mutant IDH1, one of the most common mutations identified in low-grade gliomas.
