Jiang Receives Promotion

Xiaoyin "Sara" Jiang, MD

We are pleased to announce that Xiaoyin "Sara" Jiang, MD has recently been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Pathology.  Dr. Jiang received her BS in Biology from Duke University in 2003.  She earned her MD in 2009 from Duke University School of Medicine, during which she completed the Clinical Research Training Program in 2007-2008.  From 2009-2013, she was a resident in Pathology at Duke University, followed by a one year Cytopathology Fellowship, also at Duke, in 2013-2014.  She was appointed Assistant Professor of Pathology at Duke in 2014.  She is certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Jiang has published 31 peer-reviewed manuscripts with 13 as lead or senior author, with an academic focus on thyroid neoplasia and the role of molecular diagnostics in thyroid neoplasms.  In addition to thyroid neoplasia, she is a leader in novel applications of social media for pathologists and pathology education. She serves in leadership roles within many national organizations, including CAP, USCAP, ASC, and the ATA. Dr. Jiang was honored in 2017 by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as one of the top five honorees in its “40 Under Forty” program, which recognizes emerging leaders in pathology.
