Foo Promoted to Associate Professor

Wen-Chi Foo, MD has recently been promoted

Wen-Chi Foo, MD has recently been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Pathology.  Dr. Foo received her BS in Biology from Stanford University in 2004, before earning her MD from Duke University School of Medicine in 2008, where she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha.  She completed her residency training in Pathology at Duke University, where she was elected as co-chief resident, graduating in 2012.  She completed a fellowship in Cytopathology at Brigham and Womens’ Hospital in 2013, before joining the faculty at Duke Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Pathology later that year.  Dr. Foo was appointed Chief of the Genitourinary division in 2018.  She is certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Dr. Foo has published over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and her research interests center on prostate cancer and novel diagnostics in cytopathology.  In recent years she has been the recipient of an Enhanced Academics in a Basic Research Laboratory grant from the PDC for her proposal to study racial disparity in prostate cancer, as well as the Plus Data Science Initiative from the School of Medicine for her proposal to apply deep learning to prostate cancer diagnostics.  Dr. Foo was also recently an invited speaker at the European Cytology Congress in Sweden in 2019.
