Duke Shines at the Annual NCSH Conference

The North Carolina Society of Histotechnology held their annual conference this past weekend (3/23-25) in Wilmington, NC.   Duke Surgical Pathology was shining brightly as several DUHS laboratory leaders presented at the meeting: Bert Dotson, HTL (ASCP), Kathy Grant, PhD, CT (ASCP), Kathryn Perkinson, HTL (ASCP), Edgardo Parrilla Castellar, MD, PhD, and Diana Cardona, MD.  Even our own Duke alumna, Bethany Vallangeon, MD, currently the  Hematopathology Director at East Carolina University, was an instructor. The event ended with a bang as our very own Deborah Sawyer, HTL (ASCP)  and Aurel Alston, HTL (ASCP) were sworn in as the new NCSH President and Secretary, respectively.  We are all very proud of their accomplishments!
