Dr. Kwon Receives Kinney Scholars Award

PGY-1 resident Grace Kwon, MD, PhD, was selected by the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) as a 2023 Society of ’67 Kinney Scholar, and will attend the APC annual meeting in Chicago APC 2023 Annual Meeting.

Dr. Cummings Lectures at AANP Teaching Rounds

Thomas J. Cummings, M.D, professor of Pathology and Ophthalmology, and Residency Program director, was invited to lecture at the American Association of Neuropathologists Teaching Rounds. The title of his talk was “Pathology of the Conjunctiva and Eyelids.”  AANP Teaching Rounds is a monthly education series covering the spectrum of neuropathology.

Pathology Celebrates GME Week 2023

This GME Week, Residency Program Director Thomas J. Cummings, MD, has been celebrating our phenomenal residents and fellows. On Feb. 16th, a group of Pathology residents and fellows stormed the Carolina Hurricanes game as they defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-2

Dr. Wang Receives Abstract Award

Pathology resident Bangchen Wang, MD PhD, PGY-3, has won the First Prize for Excellence in Uropathology Research from the Genitourinary Pathology Society (GUPS). He submitted an abstract to the USCAP Annual Meeting 2023, which will take place in New Orleans, LA, in March.

Dr. Cummings Presents at AANP Teaching Rounds

On Nov. 28th, Thomas J. Cummings, MD, Professor of Pathology and Ophthalmology, and Residency Program Director, presented a lecture at the American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP) Teaching Rounds titled “The Pathology of Glaucoma.”  AANP Teaching Rounds is a monthly scheduled education series covering the spectrum of neuropathology.
